The tell-all diaries of dead Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain are to be published later this year after being bought for €4.5m.

Cobain’s estate, which is managed by widow Courtney Love, struck the multi-million pounds deal with Riverhead Books, a US subsidiary of British media giant Pearson.

Estate manager James Barber told the Seattle Times that the journals contained ‘‘really cool stuff’’.
