Periscope launches Super Hearts

Popular live-streaming app Periscope yesterday launched Super Hearts, a new feature that allows users to give and receive virtual gifts during live broadcasts.

As noted in a blog post from Periscope, Super Hearts are animated heart shapes users can send to broadcasters during live-streams as a token of appreciation, and act as a form of virtual currency for the app.

Users purchase Super Hearts to gift from iTunes or the Google App Store, and broadcasters who qualify for the Super Broadcaster Program can exchange Super Hearts for money.

Super Hearts are available now on the iOS and Android versions of the Periscope app.
