Nintendo may be developing a SNES Mini
A new report from Eurogamer provides a potential answer as to why Nintendo decided to discontinue the highly popular NES Mini console so soon after its release: the company is developing a SNES Mini.
Referring to anonymous sources, the report says that development on a SNES Mini console is ‘already under way’ and that the console is currently scheduled for a Christmas 2017 release.
Nintendo is expected to use the same ‘plug-and-play’ setup of the NES Mini for the new console, which is likely to be even more popular among consumers thanks to the SNES’s legendary line-up of classic games like Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart and A Link to the Past.
