Nintendo discontinues NES Mini
Nintendo has decided to discontinue the extremely popular NES Mini console in the European, Japanese and North American markets, as noted in an article from Eurogamer.
The NES Mini is an updated version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System console first released in 1985 and comes preloaded with 30 classic Nintendo games.
The NES Mini proved to be a hit among consumers when it launched last year; the console sold out immediately and Nintendo found it difficult to meet the market demand for the consoles post-launch.
Speaking about the decision to discontinue the console, a spokesperson for Nintendo said:
‘We can confirm that we are no longer manufacturing the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System. If production resumes in the future, an update will be posted on the official Nintendo website.’
