Live music review: Jens Lekman
Things are always complicated with Jens Lekman. The Gothenburg troubadour became an cult sensation with his 2007 album Night Falls Over Kortedala. Yet he was horrified by the quasi-fame that followed and, plunged into a melancholic funk, fled to Australia to get his head straight.
He soon had the opposite problem. When a sour 2010 follow-up, I Know What Love Isn’t, sent his fanbase running for the hills, it occurred to Lekman that perhaps he wasn’t as opposed to overnight success as he had imagined.
