Crafty Christmas

Today is your last chance to pick up some unique Christmas gifts at the last Vintage and Handmade Market in St Peter’s church on North Main Street in Cork city. The last market before Christmas is on today between 11am and 5pm. Everything from prints to handmade cards and decorations, to candles and jewellery, will be available, as well as fresh bread and fresh flowers.

Festive Feeling

Cork Opera House hosts its annual Christmas Concert, on Monday. Presented by Evelyn Grant, the concert will be arranged, directed, and conducted by renowned Cork composer John O’Brien. Soloists include Cork soprano Mary Hegarty, Limerick tenor Owen Gilhooly, along with classically-trained vocalist Gemma Sugrue. Walking in the Air

Airfield Estate, Dublin city’s 38-acre working farm, is hosting a magical Christmas Experience. Enjoy a warm elf welcome before stepping into an enchanting festive tepee where you’ll have the chance to write and post your letter to Santa Claus, before meeting the man himself for some story-telling and a special gift. Oh Yes It Is

With panto season well under way, this year the Everyman Theatre is bringing the magical tale of Red Riding Hood to life. As part of its run, it will host a signed evening performance on Friday January 6, at 7.30pm to make sure the deaf and hearing impaired don’t miss out on a Christmas classic. Qualified interpreter, Ray Grenne, will stand to one side of the stage and interpret the script and language used by the performers.
