The Hothouse Flowers have Clarkson & Co to thank for their recent resurgence in the charts

Success has found the Hothouse Flowers in a unique manner this week as their oldie-but-a-goodie track ’I can see clearly now’ shoots to the top of the iTunes charts sixteen years after it was originally released.

The Irish rockers have found a new form of fame after their song has been used as the opening track of Jeremy Clarkson and Co’s new show ’The Grand Tour.’

In the opening sequence of the first episode Mr Clarkson is seen leaving a large building, handing presumably security clearance to man standing outside and heading to Los Angeles.

It would appear to many to be a throw back to last summer when Jeremy Clarkson was let go from the BBC for punching a member of staff.

Getting off the plane in LA, Jeremy gets into a very fancy, very fast car and drives to the heart of the desert while the Hot House Rockers play their hit ’I can see clearly now’.

It is scenic, it is majestic and it will make the hairs stand on the back of your neck.

The boys are back in town and they are bringing the Hothouse Flowers along with them for the ride.

The track is also added to a special Grand Tour Playlist in Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music, which features hand-picked songs from the terrible trio; Jeremy, Hammond and May along with songs inspired by the show.

Sounds well worth a listen if you ask us.
