Dogs Trust Ireland release video for their #StopKeepingMum campaign
The campaign aims to stop the suffering of mums on puppy farms.
Their website states: "The first thing that will hit you is the stench. And once your eyes adjust to the darkness you’ll see them. They’re kept in cages, covered in their own faeces and soaked in urine.
"They have no bedding and limited access to fresh water. They are nameless mothers who have never known daylight."
The video shines a light on the treatment of female dogs used for breeding on puppy farms.
Dogs Trust Ireland advises people to "make sure you see mum and puppy interacting, and be concerned if excuses are made as to why you cannot. Seeing mum with her puppy ensures their breeding environment is open for public inspection. If you suspect a puppy has come from a puppy farm don’t buy it."
