1. Grab a Gúna

Style-savvy women from all over Cork will be heading to the Garryvoe Hotel tomorrow at 2pm to grab a gúna and a bargin, all for a good cause.

‘Grab a Gúna’ has gathered an impressive collection of dresses for the pop-up shop, including labels

Phase Eight, Monsoon, Coast as well as designer brands.

There will also be a selection of bridal looks, a hair bar, make-up demos and a drinks reception. Proceeds will be donated to Marymount Hospice and Pieta House.

Tickets cost €5 and can be bought at The Garryvoe Hotel on the day.

2. House History

The owner of one of Ireland’s most historic estates, Dromana House and Gardens in Cappoquin, will trace how one of her ancestors survived sailing thousands of miles up and down the River Nile, yet drowned in the Blackwater in the late 1800s as part of a conference at her home tomorrow.

The afternoon of history and culture begins with 12.30pm lunch and will be opened by her Excellency Soha Gendi, Egyptian Ambassador to Ireland.

3. Film Focus

ActionAid Ireland are hosting a free screening of The Price We Pay, at 6.30pm in Filmbase, Dublin 2, on Monday to mark World Poverty Day.

This award-winning documentary by Harold Crooks exposes the world of tax dodging by multinational companies.

4. Imagine This

A colourful international programme of events featuring theatre, dance, music, visual art, discussion and debate, will be on offer at the 10-day Imagine Arts Festival which takes place in Waterford from Thursday.

The festival is packed with more than 60 events for all tastes and ages.

5. Stitch That

The Knitting & Stitching Show will take place from Thursday to Sunday in Dublin’s RDS arena. The show, which attracted more than 15,000 people last year, has been running for 23 years and is the country’s only textile and craft fair.

There will be workshops, demonstrations and master classes, all led by industry experts, as well as more than 200 suppliers exhibiting.
