Eddie Izzard was forced to give chase in high heels while at a protest in London when his pink beret was snatched from his head.

The comedian had his bright headwear taken as he walked down Whitehall in support of a pro-EU rally.

Police grappled with the alleged thief, who was able to flee towards Parliament Square. The suspect, who was dressed in black and had a bandanna covering half his face, was pursued down the road by the entertainer.
