The popular Family Sunday art workshops at The Lewis Glucksman Gallery in UCC resume on Sunday next, September 4, and will run until November 6, when there’s a three-week break before starting again in time for Christmas.
Led by The Glucksman’s team of arts facilitators, these workshops are held from 3 to 4pm in the River Room and are suitable for children of all ages. Highlights this season will include the STEAM Draw on Sunday, October 16, which is part of the Big Draw (the world’s largest drawing festival).
On Culture Night (September 16), the gallery will also be running a number of creative walks through UCC and beyond for adults and children including a Teddy Bears’ Walk. Admission to The Glucksman is free (suggested donation €5). For more details call 021-4901844 or see www.glucksman.org
Airfield Estate, Dublin city’s 38-acre working farm, will throw open its gates from September 9 to 11 for its Festival of Food. Entry is free, with some events ticketed, including, for fans of the Channel 4 show, The River Cottage Dining Experience and workshops with River Cottage head gardener Will Livingstone.
For families there will be readings with Freddy Buttons creator Fiona Dillon and the ReCreate ‘Reclaim Design’ centre where you can make art using recycled materials. www.airfield.ie
