Fledgling work on show at the Lavit Gallery in Cork

PAINTING, drawing, photography, photograms, printmaking, installation, sculpture, ceramics and glass all feature at the Fledglings Exhibition at the Lavit Gallery in Cork from August 30 to September 10.

This annual group show of selected work from new graduates of the Crawford and is always a crowd puller.

Over the years the Lavit Gallery and Cork Arts Society has provided a first opportunity for new graduates to show work in a professional gallery setting.

Every year is different, which makes this show unique. The nature of photography is a strong subject in many of the works in the exhibition of 2016.

This year 15 artists are taking part: Kate Bean, Emmet Brickley, Shane Fagan, Hazel Hutton, Aine Kelly, Barbara Kenneally, Molly McEntee, Eugenya Martirosyan, Jackie Nevin, Gerard O’Callaghan, Matthew Porter, Nadia Rice, Kim Roberts, Paschal Ungerer and Linda Young. Try not to miss it. Emerging artists need all the encouragement they can get.
