FIFA 17's cover star has been decided

EA has revealed the results of the online poll that determines who will feature on the cover of FIFA 17 after more than 3 million votes were cast.

EA asked fans who they’d like to adorn the cover of FIFA 17 – from a select list because EA knows better than to leave it completely open to the public – and the people have spoken. FIFA 17’s cover star will be Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.

Fans cast more than 3.1m votes, according to EA, with Reus beating out competition from Anthony Martial, James Rodriguez and Eden Hazard.

Senior producer Nick Channon said, "It is incredible to see how fans get behind their favourite player - Marco plays for a great club, is really fun to watch, and he is very popular in FIFA Ultimate Team, so it makes a lot of sense that the fans picked him.”

Reus was pleased with the accolade. He said, "I'm honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA. Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch."

FIFA 17 will hit shelves on September 29.
