Irish dad finds out he's off on a trip of a lifetime to Australia for his 70th birthday
Yesterday, we had the lovely story of Olive Chester and her surprise trip to NY for her 80th.
And now it’s Oliver Brereton’s turn.
The Offaly-based mechanic’s two sisters emigrated to Australia over 40 years ago and Amy tells us it’s been about ten years since he saw his sister, Frances and about 7 years since he saw his other sister, Ena, when they came home to visit Ireland.
Oliver has never been able to visit Australia so, for his 70th birthday, his family decided to change that.
Oliver’s daughter, Amy, posted this video of the lovely moment they told her dad he was off on a three-week trip to Oz in September.
And his reaction is… well, see for yourself.
"F**king Australia!"
He’s a gas man but you can see how much it means to him too.
We hope he has a great trip.
