A documentary on Marvin Gaye’s seminal 1971 album What’s Going On has been given the go-ahead by the singer’s family. The film’s producers said it will chronicle the making of a masterpiece that “challenged America and the world to self-reflect, going on to inspire a generation of artists and music lovers”.
