Local man Andrew Volde captured it all on video after a reported mechanical failure left Damian Leroy’s paraglider with little choice but to jump to the ground in Jupiter, Florida.
Onlookers have said that had the 34-year-old paraglider had to jump or else he would have slammed into nearby trees at high speed.
"Something wrong happened with his motor," witness Camila Nylen told ABC News.
"He did the best he could because it happened in an instant."
After he was found, Damian was airlifted to the St Mary’s Medical Center in the town.
The Palmbeachpost.com reports that he suffered a broken thighbone, punctured a lung and he also fractured his tailbone along with parts of his spine.
Despite all this, thankfully he’s expected to make a full recovery.
