Have a look at this music festival with a difference

Hungary’s biggest electronic music festival began this Wednesday on Central Europe’s biggest lake, Lake Balaton, and runs until this Sunday (6th to 10th July).

This is the tenth instalment of the festival with the inaugural event hosting 32,000 visitors. Ten years later, this year’s event expects between 170,000 and 180,000 people.

Unlike most festivals marred with the sludge-and-trudge of muddy fields, the Balaton Sound meets you with a glorious backdrop of the lake’s surrounds and more often than not you can expect a little better weather than Reading’s rain and Glasto’s gails (disingenuous, I know).

It has garnered much attention by being awarded the Best Medium-Sized Festival at the 2012 European Festival Awards. With the growing numbers every year, this medium-sized festival just got a whole lot bigger!

Maybe a little holiday to Hungary next summer is in store. Just a suggestion.
