500 respond to jobs advert for a ... tortoise-walker

Everybody loves a good dog meme, or that video of cats terrified of cucumbers. How about a Craiglist advert for an enthusiastic tortoise-walker?

Yes you heard it! 500 people responded to a Craigslist advert to walk 16-year-old Henry the tortoise around New York.

Owner Amanda Green needed someone to walk Henry as she has less time on her hands while looking after an 11-year-old boy. When going out for a walk, Henry is placed in a stroller on his way to Central Park as it would take too long on foot... obviously.

The interview process for the role of the walker was intense. The hundreds of candidates were asked what their favourite type of animal was, but respite was given as "No tortoise experience [is] necessary", according to Amanda's Craigslist ad. Relief!
