Kenneth Webb work among Irish art at specialist auctions

An interesting view of a retro-looking Kinsale Harbour by Kenneth Webb is one of the lots that will draw southern interest at de Vere’s Irish art auction in Buswell’s Hotel, Dublin tomorrow afternoon.

Estimated at €3,000 to €5,000, it is one of 150 lots with estimates ranging from €1,000-€5,000.

The sale will feature work by established names such as Brian Bourke, Patrick Pye, Hughie O’Donoghue and Charles Brady.

It is on view at de Vere’s on Kildare St from 11am to 5pm today and from 11am to 2pm tomorrow.

Morgan O’Driscoll’s online Irish art auction of 148 lots runs until next Monday at 6.30pm, when bidding will get underway.

Amongst other works by well-known artists is a charcoal drawing by Paul Henry of Israel Zangwill, the British author and playwright at the forefront of cultural Zionism in the early years of the 20th century.

There are 11 lots of sculpture, and the sale is on view in Skibbereen from noon to 5pm today and tomorrow, and from 11am to 3pm on Monday.

MASTERPIECE FAIR

Masterpiece in London, the leading international fair for art and design, from antiquity to the present day, runs from next Thursday to July 6. It will include a salon exhibition dedicated to the late Zaha Hadid, along with fine furniture, 20th century and classical art, and Old Master paintings. The venue for this, the seventh fair, is the Royal Hospital in Chelsea.

CORK SALE TOMORROW

There will be an antiques and collectors sale at Cork Auction Rooms at noon tomorrow. It is on view from 10am to 6pm today and from 9am tomorrow.

SIXMILEBRIDGE SALE

Auctioneer Aidan Foley offers a selection of antique furniture, fine art and collectibles at a sale at The Auction Rooms, Sixmilebridge, Co Clare, next Tuesday at 10am. Viewing is under way today.

HOSPITALITY SALE

Bedroom, bar, and restaurant furniture from The Heritage Hotel will be sold by Ashgrove Auctioneers at Clonminam Business Park, Portlaoise at noon on Thursday, June 30. There are desks, dressing tables, mirrors, lockers, prints, chairs, curtains and coffee tables among more than 900 lots. The hotel is to be refurbished.

JEWELLERY & WATCHES

A total of 140 lots of fine jewellery and watches will come up at James Adam in Dublin next Tuesday at 6pm. The sale is on view from 1pm to 5pm today and tomorrow, from 10am to 5pm on Monday, and from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday.

LONDON CALLING

The Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia in London opens on Monday and continues until July 3. More than 160 dealers will showcase around 55,000 objects of desire in more than 30 categories of collecting.
