WATCH: Hundreds queue to give blood following Florida nightclub massacre
Irish woman Cathy Tobin contacted us from outside such a clinic, located just one mile away from the scene of the shooting.
"One man brought the hate but hundreds are bringing the love," she told the Irish Examiner.
"Loads of volunteers distributing water, snacks and sunscreen too. Waiting to see if they'll take blood from us Irish guys given the circumstances."
A video Cathy took shows hundreds of people waiting to give blood, in a lengthy queue that reaches far past the clinic, snaking through a carpark outside and stretching into the distance.
The overwhelming response to the tragedy led to donation centre One Blood's website crashing, and wait times to donate at some clinics are over two hours long.
We're working on getting the website back up. You can call 1.888.936.6283
