Irishmoji app launches with 150 Irish-specific emoji
Irishmoji has launched in time for Euro 2016 with 150 Irish specific emoji, including an Irish football jersey, hearts in Irish colours, a hurl, castles, a rugby jersey, the Gardaí, and many more.
Fanmoji founder, Tim Webber, said that he hopes that the team has done a good job of representing Ireland. "Ireland has such a deep cultural history in its buildings, landmarks and people, and along with the number of great symbols and phrases that lend themselves to emoji stickers and illustrations we thought it’d be a brilliant way to bring out the character of the country,” he said.
The people of Ireland had a say in the app too. There was a poll run to let people vote on the final few things that should be in the first release of the app.
“We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve had, and hope we’ve done a good first job. We will continue to work hard on updates and improvements if people show they want them,” he added.
