It's also shallow to a fault.
In a recent investor broadcast developers DICE admitted that content was cut in order to release the game before blockbuster movie The Force Awakens in order to ensure maximum sales.
According to Eurogamer, this included a potential single player campaign. The lack of a story mode has been one of the biggest criticisms of Battlefront, especially for a movie saga that's rife with tales to tell.
The language of EA Studios boss Patrick Söderlund also suggests that the company wasn't happy with the review scores for the first game and that they'll be doing all they can to improve it for the sequel.
Now this information did come out of a call with investors so the terms are quite dry but it still sounds like there was little mention of trying to deliver a better game, with the use of Metacritic as a metric for success one of the major issues with how EA has operated over the last few years.
Right now it seems a sequel is in the works for 2017, and will no doubt launch close to the release of Star Wars Episode VIII. Let's hope there's time for a decent single player mode.
