French drama Marseilles coming to Netflix this week

Netflix is about to debut its first French language series, and it looks to be continuing in the fine tradition of its current self produced content.

Marseille is a major new drama starring Gérard Depardieu as the the man who has been mayor of that fine French city for 25 years. As the latest elections approach a younger candidate emerges, and a battle commences for the top spot.

There's a pretty epic trailer for the show below.

It looks like things are going to get particularly nasty, and that's perfect fodder for the kind of moreish entertainment Netflix is looking to offer to its millions of customers.

All eight episodes will debut exclusively on Netflix on the 5th of May, 2016.
