One of the ‘worst parts of motherhood’

The woman behind the Facebook account The Barefoot Mum has posted a photo that captures what she considers to be one of the ’worst parts of motherhood’.

Kelli Bannister is a 30-year-old photographer and blogger from the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

However, this is one snap she can’t take credit for. The candid photo was taken by her five-year-old son on her phone as she cradled her sick baby girl in the shower.

Bannister said, "I was debating whether or not to post this, but this is real, raw, and one of the absolute worst parts of Motherhood that at some stage, we will all go through!!"

The raw and emotive moment has touched the hearts of many as exhausted Bannister holds her ill baby in the shower to soothe her coughing.

"The part nothing or no-one can prepare you for, the part where you would give every ounce of your entire being to make your poor baby feel ok again."

With more than 47,000 reactions on Facebook, Bannister has been blown away by the response.
