Jonah Hill directing his first film

Jonah Hill has had quite the career already - from a tiny role in The 40 Year Old Virgin to comedy superstardom in the likes of 21 Jump Street and even an Oscar nomination for Moneyball. All that, and he's only 32.

Jonah Hill directing his first film

Well it seems like the actor has no intention of stopping just yet, as he moves to take on his first directing job on a movie called Mid 90s. He also penned the script which is said to be about a group of teenagers growing up in California, presumably in the middle of that specific decade. As a guy who was born in 1983 and grew up in Los Angeles, it's reasonable to assume there might be some element of autobiography to the coming of age tale.

Hill has expressed interest in getting behind the camera before and has also picked up a story credit on both 21 Jump Street and it's sequel. It seems like he's been planning the move for a good while and the smaller scale of the picture makes it sound like he's being careful not to take on a project that's too big. The word is that he won't be starring in Mid 90s and there's no release date as yet but we'll see Hill next opposite Miles Teller in War Dogs, which will be out in August 2016.
