Young family in need brings out the best in Reddit users

Random acts of kindness can’t get enough publicity as far as we are concerned and here is one that will really warm the cockles of your heart.

Brittinea Campbell is a recently single mom of a 12-year-old daughter and a 14-week-old son.

Her partner Graham Krauss committed suicide on Christmas Eve.

Reeling in shock at her situation, Brittinea turned to Reddit to share her story with others.

She told a forum of complete strangers her predicament and made an Amazon wishlist of essentials and before long people began to send her nappies, Sudocrem, clothes and toys.

The goodwill gestures don’t stop there with people doing everything they can to help out the young woman.

One Redditor painted a pram they were no longer using to send to her while her friend set up a GoFundMe page which has raised more than $6,000.

The list goes on and on of generous gestures reaching out to help this family in need.

Another Reddit user set up a college fund of $100,000 for the 14-month-old child.

It is fair to say that these people have changed that family’s life for the better and Brittinea again took to Reddit to share her delight and gratitute saying: "This means more to me than anything has before.

"I’ve never had people be so nice to my family like this, and it truly has brought a ton of happiness to us, which is something we haven’t felt in a while. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
