Twitter is feeling the love for George Best on the 10th anniversary of his death

As the saying goes: ’Pele good, Maradona better, George Best’.

He was the most talented footballer to ever emerge from the island of Ireland, dazzling and dancing past defenders on his way to league titles and a European Cup with Manchester United in the sixties, as well as the Ballon d’or.

Although his career eventually fizzled out in a haze of parties and women - his good lucks and charm saw the media and the world of celebrity cling onto him - Best will always be remembered for what he did on the field.
