VIDEO: Community rescues dog stuck in a wombat hole for 3 days

Three-year-old American bulldog, Brooklyn, chased a wombat down a burrow along the Bens Walk bush track at Nowra and became trapped.
The 42 kilogram dog made national headlines after he became stuck down the wombat hole.
He was stuck there for three days before the official search was called off.
Crews from Wildlife Rescue South Coast, New South Wales Fire and Rescue and NSW Ambulance Rescue used shovels, crowbars and a jackhammer to try and free the dog in the days earlier.

The community of Nowra did not give up on Brooklyn and came together to save him. In what was a huge effort from all involved, Brooklyn was rescued from underground and reunited with his owner.
Brooklyn’s owner, Charlie Griffith, has thanked the people who supplied equipment, the RSPCA and everyone who helped.
