WATCH: Nathan Carter had an unfortunate slip-up on The Late Late Show last night

Country and Irish singer Nathan Carter was left more than a little red-faced during his appearance on The Late Late Show last night.

The 25-year-old singer had an unfortunate slip of the tongue that took the mind to an alternative musing while discussing his career and how he got to where he is today.

Being the mannerly young man that he is, Nathan was eagerly bestowing enthusiastic praise on his mentor Philomena Begley, who joined him on the couch for a chat with Ryan Tubridy.

All was going well until Nathan tried to emphasize the key role Philomena played in his rise to fame and ended up saying something that Ryan Tubridy had to help clarify.

We think there is no need to tell Nathan that there is a big difference in helping to get a man up, and get a man up on stage -as he realised just after his words.

Dropping his head and covering his eyes, you can clearly see the poor fella squirm in his seat but someone gave him a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder to help keep him together.

This kind of thing can happen us all Nathan, unfortunately for you, your gaffe was on The Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy, we all have our crosses to bear.
