VIDEO: Strangers make emotional connection during world's largest Eye Contact Experiment
Over 100,000 people across the globe took part in the world’s largest eye contact experiment recently, organised to highlight such lack of connection.
The Eye Contact Experiment was held in over 140 towns and cities worldwide. The global event demonstrated that beyond our differences there is love and humanity.
This experience allowed people to take a moment out and connect with someone, be it a friend or a total stranger.
People sat or stood and made eye contact with each other for 60 seconds or more and the results are touching. Participants reacted to the experiment in different ways.
Some people got emotional and shed tears and others expressed sheer joy and happiness.
The Eye Contact Experience was hosted by The Liberators International who were the global organisers of the event.
The Liberators International are an international social movement founded in Perth, Australia. The hosts are people from all backgrounds and different walks of life.
The movement are passionate about creating public demonstrations and experiments for peace.
The videos portray the importance to connect with one another and take time to make time for and respect others.
People who took part in the event expressed their views and thoughts on Twitter.
