Six things to do this weekend

1. All that Jazz

It’s that time of the year again when Cork invents its own word and invites the nation to go jazzin’ (right). There will be more than 400 sessions at 70 venues across the city as a jam-packed festival programme sees everything from classic jazz instrumentalists to Gary Numan and The Stunning.

Cork Opera House plays host to a double bill on Saturday with The Coronas taking to the stage at 8pm followed by the highly energetic, Irish version of a New Orleans 8 piece, the phenomenal Booka Brass Band who will take over from midnight. The Cork Opera House Festival Club will also host its first Silent Disco in the Blue Angel Bar from 10.30pm.
