'Birthday Mischief' have been sharing photos of some breathtaking cakes which have been made for the occasion.

Over 50 cakes have been made celebrating the world of Harry Potter which Rowling has created.

A number of Irish bakers have taken part in the celebration, and their detailed cakes will instantly make you apparate to the Great Hall of Hogwarts for a hearty, and beautiful, feast.

Here are three of our favourites.

1. Roses and Bows Cakery

Karen Keaney of Roses and Bows Cakery has created a detailed edible version of Hagrid's hut, complete with scarecrow, Buckbead and a little birthday cake inside baked by Hagrid for Harry himself.

The cake will be on display for two weeks in Manorhamilton Library, Co Leitrim.

2. Novel-T Cakes

Remember when some annoyed centaurs dragged the much-hated Dolores Umbridge into the Forbidden Forest in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?

Longford-based Tanya Ross of Novel-T Cakes has perfectly recreated the scene in cake form. It includes a Gryffindor scarf, a copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Harry's owl Hedwig overseeing everything.

3. Lovin' From the Oven

Corinna Maguire is a Canadian graphic designer-turned-baker based in the West of Ireland and she has designed an amazing Thestral cake.

This is definitely one of the darker birthday cakes we've ever seen, but we still love it - he even has a little party hat and present for Rowling.
