WATCH: Dublin boy is unbelievably lucky to escape being knocked down

A child in Dublin was extremely fortunate to escape being knocked down in an incident captured on video yesterday.

The incident took place in the Hartstown area of Dublin at 8.10pm yesterday, and was filmed by YouTuber D's Dashcam Footage.

After coming off a roundabout you can see a young boy exiting a pulled in van, after the camera vehicle goes to overtake the parked van the child runs out in front of the ongoing traffic. Luckily the alert driver manages to stop in time.

The video should serve as a powerful message to parents and children alike on the importance of road safety for younger ones.

D's Dashcam Footage thinks it's so important that they even stuck the old safe cross code on the end of the video.
