VIDEO: This blind pooch and his guide dog from Cork are looking for a home together

We bet you’ve never seen a dog with its own guide dog before.

Rover and Blackie are best friends, and when their owner, a farmer, sadly passed away, they found themselves in need of a new home.

Cork DAWG have highlighted that their case is very unusual, however. Rover, a 7-year-old Collie mix, is completely blind and he relies on Blackie to be both his friend and his guide through the darkness.

It is hoped that one home can be found for the pair so they won't be separated, and in the meantime they are living in a foster home with Amanda and Finbar, who have shared a clip of the adorable dogs with us.

It is likely that Rover has been blind since birth, but with Blackie by his side he is unstoppable.

Understandably, Rover is a little nervous in new places, but once he finds his bearings and grows to trust the people around him, he grows in confidence. He loves nothing more than an enjoyable walk and he enjoys lots of attention and care.

Blackie is three years older than Rover and has much more confidence than her younger friend. Like Rover, she absolutely loves walks and she is great with adults, children, and her fellow dogs.

The charming lady is shy at first, but she soon becomes very lovable.

Margaret and Finbar have noticed the smiles at them, which can be seen in the above video, and she enjoys her dinner very much.
