VIDEO: Incredible footage of starlings in Carrick on Shannon

Have you ever seen a murmuration of starlings?

If you haven't, it is pretty impressive.

This video was recorded last Friday by Edwina Guckian in Carrick on Shannon and it is one of the few things that could make a beautiful summer evening sky even more so.

According to Edwina, the starlings have been 'performing' like this all weekend. She says that every evening between 8 and 10.30pm, the starlings are out, like a timetabled air show.

It's captivating watching the starlings twist and turn and dance through the sky.

We can only imagine what it's like sitting out in the sun with a show like that overhead after a hard days work.
