WATCH: Cork City Marathon runner saves bird from tunnel danger

One runner in the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon put his finishing time in danger to help out a little bird.

While heading through the Jack Lynch Tunnel, Andrzej Chomicz stumbled across a bird trapped inside.

Instead of running past in the hope of recording a good time in his race, Andrzej stopped to give the bird a helping hand.

Picking the little guy up they ran together through the tunnel until they emerged and Andrzej set his feathered friend down near a bush, safely away from the roadside.

Andrzej may not have won the race, but he certainly wins at being a good guy.
