We’re on a mission to highlight Ireland’s hidden acts of kindness
One of the show's reporters Colm Flynn was in a Rathmines cafe in Dublin and there was a young Irish man sitting in a corner who was obviously under the influence of a few drinks
Flynn revealed that as the man went to leave the man spat at a group of three Spanish men before muttering "foreigners". Hen then walked out.
Flynn was disgusted and as there weren't many Irish people in the cafe, he went over to the gentleman who had been spat on to apologise on behalf of the drunk man and offer to buy the Spanish man a drink.
Just saw a drunk man walk out of Rathmines Starbucks, turn at the door to a bunch sitting and spat on them saying 'foreigners'... Disgusting.

You can listen to the story in full here.
It was a simple act of kindness from Flynn, and an action we, in the Irish Examiner, believe is far more reflective of Irish people's attitudes than the drunk man's abhorrent behaviour.
This story got us thinking that often ordinary everyday acts of kindness go completely unnoticed and in light of that we are asking our readers to tell us about those acts of kindness they have seen so we can highlight stories - we believe - better reflect the society we all live in.
Send us an email to steve.neville@examiner.ie or get in touch with us on Facebook or on Twitter using the hashtag #IEkindness to tell us your story and we will be highlighting five of the best in the coming days.
