Is `#Selfie` set to become the new `Harlem Shake`?
On a whim, Drew Taggart, 24, and Alex Pall, 28, made a demo of a dancefloor thumper titled "#Selfie" that features a female clubber's comically vain monologue -- about taking a selfie, of course. Within days of the track's SoundCloud premiere, plays began exploding, aided by a viral video and a smart social media campaign. The song features, the now standard Dance club format of rise and fall of the beat along with a catchy chorus line. What is probably the stand out feature of this track is the fact that the vapid female voice is half of a typical conversation you would likely hear in any nightclub round the world today. During the rants and raves, the chorus line "But first, let me take a selfie ... " is dropped in, as if it was casually acceptable to do so.This line is prompting users of the 7 sec viral video site Vine to create random situations to bebroken by the announcement of the impending selfie.Check some of the latest that appeared online in the last few days. Saying the Line and performing funny poses appears to be the key if your rolling your own!
