VIDEO: Cork DAWG’s tribute to little Daisy will have dog lovers in tears

This emotional video brought a tear or two to our eyes today.

Cork Dog Action Welfare Group (DAWG) shared this short video tribute to Daisy, a little chihuahua who has broken everybody's heart.

Last month Daisy, along with five other chihuahuas, was rescued from freezing temperatures in a garden shed following the death of their owner.

Each dog had urgent medical needs.

"None was spayed or neutered. All had been used for breeding. Two needed surgery for untreated conditions.

"Daisy was encumbered with a serious mobility issue since birth.

"Everyone at DAWG was immediately committed to improving Daisy’s quality of life, and plans were underway to do whatever it took to help her.

"Tragically, the night before her appointment with a specialist orthopaedic surgeon, Daisy’s health took a dramatic plunge, and after six years of struggle, her little heart gave out."

Daisy died two days ago.

"She is deeply missed by her foster family, everyone at DAWG, and the tiny chihuahua buddies with whom she spent her whole life."

Now to honour Daisy's memory, DAWG, who currently have 128 dogs in their care, have set up a memorial fund to help fund the care needed for Daisy's five friends, Bella, Bo, Maisey, Duke and Pip. Their veterinary costs total more than €1200.
