It’s January — it’s Dolan’s Cork sale

Arthur Maderson’s Towards the Lake Isle of Innisfree graces the catalogue cover for Dolan’s sale at Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork on Sunday week (January 18).

The oil on board is estimated at €3,000 to €5,000. This auction of more than 200 lots of art, collectibles and antiques has become a regular and popular fixture in Cork in January.

In 2015 it will include about 40 lots from Tulira Castle in Co Galway, which has just been sold. Among these is a complete Victorian dressing set with hallmarked handles in its original case. It is estimated at €1,000 to €1,500.

Most lots will be sold without reserve. There is art by Kenneth Webb, Harry Kernoff, Mark O’Neill, Norah McGuinness, Susan Webb, Michael Morris and many other popular and contemporary Irish artists in what is predominantly an art auction with some antique furniture and collectible lots added.

Viewing at Rochestown Park is from 12.30pm to 8pm next Friday, 10am to 8pm on this day week and from 10am to the start of the sale at 2pm on January 18.
