The Tuesday Poem: Beanna faoi shneachta

Is geall lena shinsir roimhe iad

The Tuesday Poem: Beanna faoi shneachta

na sasquatchanna a bhí ann fadó

is nár fhág aon rian ina ndiaidh:

slogann na coillte an smúsach as a gcnámha

............................

Snowclad mountains

They appear to him as ancestors

towering snowclad peaks

on a morning that would blind you –

sasquatches of old

leaving no trace behind:

the woods have sucked the marrow from their bones
