Events to look out for in the search for antiques

Part one of this collection generated huge interest. Feature lots of interest to particular collectors this time include a collection of Cork stoneware jugs and large jars. There is drawing room, dining room and bedroom furniture, silverware, books, an antique marble mantle clock with music box in need of restoration and a Victorian chaise longue from 1860.

HEGARTY RESULTS

The top lot at Hegarty’s sale in Bandon on Sunday was an Irish Georgian fiddle back card table. It made €3,700. The Boulle credenza featured on these pages last week was unsold and under negotiation afterwards. A 19th century ormolu mounted bracket clock made €1,850, a breakfront bookcase made €2,750. a Regency card table made €2,200 and a silver parasol handle by Kwan Wo of Hong Kong and Canton made €750.

DONERAILE DRAW

In Doneraile in North Cork viewing starts at 11am today for the Aidan Foley auction at 1pm. This is an auction with a lot of smaller items, including jewellery, porcelain, silver and plate and a collection of books.

YOUGHAL ART

The sale at Cork Auction Rooms at noon tomorrow features a large collection of watercolour designs and specialist stained glass tools from the Watson estate of stained glass makers in Youghal. There is viewing from 10am to 6pm today and from 9am tomorrow.The first post Christmas sale will be held on Sunday, December 28

KILLARNEY EXHIBITION

Water is the title of the Christmas exhibition at the Frank Lewis Gallery in Killarney until December 24. It features landscape paintings by Robert Egginton, Michael McCarthy, Robert McCarthy and Claudio Viscardi.

SEASONAL SALES

There will be a sale at Kerry Auction Rooms, Moyderwell, Tralee on Saturday December 20 at noon.
