CANCEL all other engagements. It’s Culture Night 2013, and it’s countrywide. Tonight, art and culture centres and organisations will open their doors until late, for free access to collections, workshops and events. Open your senses to new experiences, sounds, and ideas, and enlarge your awareness of our rich heritage.

In Cork, the Honan Chapel, at UCC, will be open for viewing of the Harry Clarke stained-glass windows, and other treasures, from 8am to 11pm. Earlier sessions at Graffiti, in Blackpool, include two performances of ‘Lavender and Lullabies’, at 11.30am and 2.30pm, for children and their parents. Free, but booking essential: 021-439 7111 or www.graffiti.ie.

Ever dreamed of joining a travelling show? There are introductory workshops, for children and adults, at the Cork Circus Factory on Albert Quay, 1pm-3pm. Juggle, walk on stilts, hang from the trapeze or try acrobatics.
