A four piece tea set made by Royal Irish Silver in Dublin in 1969 is a highlight at Woodwards auction of silver and collectibles in Cork next Wednesday at 6pm.

The tea set should sell for around €2,000.

Antique Irish silver pieces include a salver by Samuel Le Bas, Dublin, 1865 (€700 – €800), a soup ladle with shell bowl by William French, Dublin, 1771 (€500 – €600), a fiddle pattern sugar tongs by Richard Sawyer, Dublin, 1814 (€50 – €60), and a sifter ladle by John Smyth, Dublin 1853 (€100 – €140).

A sugar bowl with swing handle by West and Sons, Dublin 1920 is estimated at €250 – €300 and a Dublin silver mustard pot with spoon is estimated at €140 – €160.

The auction will feature a collection of Chelsea porcelain figures as well as some Waterford Crystal. Viewing at Woodward’s Cook St showrooms in Cork City is from 2pm to 5pm today and tomorrow and from 10am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
