Shoes with an in-built tracking device, designed to be worn by people suffering with memory loss or Alzheimer’s, have just gone on sale in Ireland.
The shoes monitor the person’s move-ments, giving those suffering from Alzheimer’s more freedom, but also gives their relatives and friends peace of mind.
Costing €307.50, the shoes are fitted with a miniature GPS system, which the manufacturers say will pinpoint a person’s location. If a person strays beyond a designated safe area, the system will also alert their relatives by text message.
