Web Watch: Stylish Eve is slick and savvy

1. STYLISH EVE: Very slick and savvy site — covering everything you could possible think of.

But for today, I stuck to the Home Decorating tab and then lighting, cos I’m trying to find ideas for kitchen lights at the moment, otherwise I could have lost days clicking around this site.

Home Storage is also a gem with fab ideas for small spaces along with functional ideas and smart storage units.

2. DESIRE TO INSPIRE: This is a chummy, pally, girlie site set up by Kim and Jo, interior design junkies who met on Flicker in

2006. It’s very personal compared to other interior design sites — there’s a post on it at the moment about Kim’s tattoo and why she got it and a link to a bewildering site where her sister and herself post what they wear everyday — but Jo’s page did have the desired inspiring effect on me.

3. The WOOD WHISPERER: This site is for all things wood, as the name would suggest. Articles, polls, musings, projects, shop, techniques, tools — all to do with wood. One poll entitled ‘Do you plan woodworking into family vacations?’ made me realise I was out of my depth, I felt like an intruder into a world where I didn’t belong. ‘The Many Hats of a Woodworker’ and ‘Building Stuff With Wood — The Comic’ confirmed this and I took my leave.
