What’s in my beauty bag?
Vichy Liftactiv Flexilift Foundation, €22.50
“I got this as a freebie a couple of years ago, but the proof was in the fact that I have purchased many bottles since. It manages to make you look fresher than you feel, and I find it is the only foundation that really does do that whole glowy thing most promise.”
Nars Orgasm Blush, €29
“I caved in to the hype around three weeks ago, and I have to say it really is quite a pretty, light, shimmery shade.”
The Serenity Station Night Creme, €23
“I love a natural moisturiser, and the Serenity Station range, for me, is the best you can get. It smells and feels beautiful — while properly moisturising my tired skin. It’s also incredibly inexpensive for the all-natural ingredients. I genuinely loved it so much I decided to stock it in my store.”
Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in Snog, €6.65
“I’ve been wearing this shade for around four years now, and it really is my go-to gloss for a bit of lip existence in photographs. I would recommend it to anyone about to take on bride or bridesmaid roles — it will always show off your smile.”
Mac Eye Shadow, €15
“I have recently returned to Mac eyeshadow. I spend about seven minutes doing my day time eye makeup, and I never use brushes, so I have to use a shadow that doesn’t fall down my face. Mac is easy to apply and quite dramatic. I love all dark the brown shimmery and black shades in particular.”
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, €35
“I use this for under the eye, under the brow and also on my lip line before applying gloss —
it’s just one of those products I can’t quit.
Mac Strobe Cream, €31
“I changed from Clarins Beauty Flash Balm to this recently to see if I liked it and I found that I do! I really like a dewy glow, I’m not a fan of pressed powder so it’s things that make you look shimmery I go for. I use this under foundation in the morning and it looks great.”
Diorshow Mascara, €29.99
“I’ve tried every mascara on the market and I always go back to Diorshow and Max Factor Masterpiece Max. Both of these are great — my lashes tend to clump, but you can apply lots of coats which is what I like, and no thick-looking result.”
Favourite brand: I’ve really gotten into Mac of late — but I’m not really loyal!
Monthly beauty budget: around €30.
Favourite beauty item: lipbalm and gloss, I couldn’t function without either.
Beauty destination: I very rarely treat myself, but there’s a great facialist called Kim in Freshford, Co Kilkenny, and she is incredible.
Gone, but not forgotten: There was a L’Oreal Paris foundation that was replaced by True Match and I loved it — it was made for my skintone. I loved it and was devastated when they got rid of it.
