Yesterday was International Women’s Day. As the day approached, my editor asked me to think about why I became a feminist. Unusually for me, I found myself stumped. But why?

I realised we were asking the wrong question. I didn’t ‘become’ a feminist. There was no road to Damascus moment when I realised I was a feminist.
