Irish Blueberries: Look out for delicious Irish Blueberries in the shops, this is a good year for this wonderful health giving fruit. More information on blueberries can be found on www.derryvilla.com. Derryvilla Blueberry Farm in Co Offaly produces fresh blueberries and also makes Blueberry Relish, Blueberry Preserve and Blueberry Juice which are on sale throughout the country.

Blackberries: Now is also the time to comb the hedgerows for Blackberries, make delicious tarts and jam or freeze for winter use.

Douglas Farmers Market now in full swing, selling local vegetables, fruit, farmhouse cheese, cakes, biscuits, preserves, herb plants, fresh fish, smoothies... Saturday 9-1pm, car park by the Community Centre.
