The 30-acre holding at Cleragh, Killenaule, for April auction.

P.F. Quirke & Co in Clonmel are presenting a brace of auctions on the same day — Tuesday, April 14, at their auction rooms in Clonmel.

First on the agenda is a 17.5-acre holding at Kilmacomma, Clonmel.

“This is a top-quality agricultural holding,” said selling agent Pat Quirke. “The land has extensive frontage onto both the main Clonmel-Dungarvan road and a tertiary road, from which is the main access to the land.

“It’s all in one block and there is a pen and cattle-handling facilities. The property is currently all in grass and easily farmed… a rare opportunity to purchase a small agricultural holding close to Clonmel.”

The second property comes under the hammer on the same day at 3pm. This is a larger holding of 30 acres at Cleragh, near the village of Killenaule and about 25km north of Clonmel.

“The holding comprises a single 30-acre field with excellent frontage onto two public roads,” says Pat. “The land is close to Killenaule and allows for great scenery in all directions.

"It’s divided by wire into a number of smaller paddocks, and has a holding area, cattle crush and two small outbuildings. The land is free-draining limestone land and of excellent quality.”

Public auctions have been going very well and this spring seems to be seeing a larger number of them than usual, which is a sign of great confidence in the market.

Pat Quirke expects good competition for both plots, which are guided between €15,000 and €16,000 per acre.
